DOI : 10.31067/0.2018.64 Objective: The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of healthy life and related factors in university students.

Methods: The collected data were collected from 303 students using the "socio demographic survey", form of eating habits, "Healthy Life Style Behavior Scale (HLSBS) and " Beck Depression Inventory (BDI)".

Results: The average score of the BDI was found 13.91 and the mean of age of the sample was 20.2. In this study, 41.9% of the students had mild, 15.5% had moderate and 7.6% had severe depression. Those with poor health perceptions (25.88) had a higher average BDI scores than those with moderate health perceptions (15.74). Additonally, those with a moderate level had a significantly higher BDI score than those with a good level (12.57).

Conclusion: As a result, a significant proportion of the students were found to have high depression scores. It was determined that students depression scores were affected by gender, smoking and alcohol consumption and personality perception, participation in social activities and forms of housing. Factors should be supported which have a positive influence on health behaviors and depression scores in the students. Keywords : Depression, healthy life, university students, demographic features
