Anatomy of Patient Rights

Şişli Etfal Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, Deontoloji, İstanbul, Türkiye The last five decades have witnessed tremendous changes in the field of medical technology and health services, in parallel with a great transformation in the perception and implementation of patient rights in many parts of the world. These facts have induced a fundementally important change in the the provision of healthcare facilities and in the making of health care system which seem to be permanent in future.

This study aims to identify the distinctive features of the concept of patient rights, to deliniate the basic phases of this transformation together with its main components in exemplification with an anatomical sketch.

Finally, it is aimed to suggest and put forth some solutions concerning the application of patient rights in our healthcare system. Keywords : patient rights, human rights, real patient rights practice, ethics
